Core Contact's Role
COMPdata's performance measurements contact is usually the hospital's Quality Improvement team leader or other staff designated by the Director of Quality. The hospital contact's role and responsibilities include:
- Downloading and installing the most current version of the CMS CART Tool from the CMS QualityNet web site.
- Abstracting performance measurements clinical data concurrently or retrospectively. Specific topic abstractions (AMI, HF, PN, SIP) are entered into the CART Tool.
- Exporting hospital performance measurements data from CART and transmitting clinical data to COMPdata via EFT (Electronic File Transfer).
- Reviewing COMPdata's data collection performance measures feedback reports and reconciling discrepancies. Corrections are resubmitted to COMPdata prior to each quarterly submission deadline.
