Special Handling Form (Performance Measures)
 

Purpose: Use this form when your Hospital is requesting COMPdata to process Special Handling Cases for Inpatient Performance Measures for The Joint Commission (TJC) and CMS. Download Form

COMPdata requests Hospitals to limit their requests for special handling cases.

To avoid special handling cases completely, hospitals must:

• Review Mismatch and Match Reports after each submission of data for each measure set.
• Reconcile all the mismatched cases prior to the Administrative data submission deadlines.
• Scheduled close dates are located on the main menu.
  • Choose Data Submission Services
  • Choose Your State
  • Choose Administrative
  • Close schedules are located under Quarterly Submission Information
• Only submit special handling cases that do not already appear on the Match report.
• Ensure special handling cases are submitted once to COMPdata in order to avoid duplicates.

Note: All matched/merged cases listed on the match report are submitted to TJC and CMS.
